November 14 Update

 Writing:

The kids are almost done with their non-fiction pieces.  This week we wrote another chapter, a kinds of, a diagram, and fun facts.  Next week, we will finish by writing our conclusion, glossary, index, and about the author!  I am so excited to read these!

Math:

The kids are solving some big addition and subtraction problems.  Have them show you how they would subtract 67-13 on a number line.  Can they also show you how to add 67 + 13?

Reading:

We doubled up with phonics during reading, making sure to learn some more skills for figuring out bigger words when we read books.

Voracious Reader of the Week:

Congratulations to Oliver for being our Voracious Reader of the Week!  Oliver is doing an amazing job reading, and picking good fit books!  Keep up the great reading!

Phonics:

We have been learning so many strategies for when we come across hard words while reading.  The kids LOVED Safari Day!  Thank you so much for letting dress the part!

Super Kid:

Congratulations to Adalynn for being our Super Kid of the Week!  Adalynn is a great friend to others, and is doing a great job SOARing at school. Keep up the great work, Adalynn!
