August 28 Update
Writing: The kids have been doing a lot of practice with sentence writing this past week. We know how to make sure we have a five star sentence when we: 1. Use capital letters at the beginning of sentences. 2. Use ending marks at the end of sentences. 3. Put spaces in between our words. 4. Try our best with spelling, making sure to have vowels in every word. 5. Write in our neatest handwriting. Next week, we are going to work on writing small moments, (focusing in on one small moment), rather than writing many moments. Phonics: We took a spelling test this past week, which will help with differentiated instruction, making sure that the kids can work on skills they need for spelling. Math: The kids had FUN (that's right...FUN in math!). We played games (work stations) and learned how to put things into different categories...it was so much fun, that they didn't even realize they were actually doing math!
