We had a great TWO days in 2nd Grade!  This is such a great group of kids, and I'm so excited to spend the year with them.  These past two days, we did a lot of getting to know you activities, routine practicing, and even fit in "some" learning :) Here are some things we are going to work on for our four days next week: Writing: We wrote stories today about what we did for summer vacation, and I noticed we may need some practice with writing sentences.  So, next week we will practice sentence structure, and then we are going to write an "On Demand" small moment.  This is just a pre-test on their writing, before I give any writing instruction.  They are going to write about something they have done, which will be perfect after our summer break, or long weekend.  Hopefully, there will be a lot of fresh stories in their head that they can think of. Phonics: Next week we will take a spelling test, which will help me determine who needs help with certain phonics...

 

  Congratulations! If you are reading this blog, that means you successfully went through the virtual "All About Me" that I sent out to you, or got my email. I am so excited to meet you all on August 18th from 6:00-7:30 for the Open House.  We are going to have such a great year together!  I will send out information through this blog to keep you updated on what we are learning in the classroom, and any upcoming events. I know that the start of the year can bring a lot of mixed emotions, but just know that I am ecstatic that we are going to start the year together.  I am so excited to get back to what I LOVE doing, and that is teaching kids! I will do my best to make this year be as enjoyable as possible.
